  2. Trudeau at points. What did he bring to Trudeau? 
  3. How did he help him?

  5. A:  Well, Trudeau was a common friend of both 
  6. McLuhan and myself. At the time I met McLuhan I 
  7. had just become the policy chairman of the Liberal 
  8. party for Ontario. And as such, I was one of 
  9. Trudeau‚Äôs advisors. I‚Äôd had a rapport with Mr. 
  10. Trudeau‚ÄîI‚Äôm not saying he took my advice‚Äînot 
  11. many times, but once or twice. And I wrote a book 
  12. called The Way Ahead for Canada  based on a 
  13. working paper that Trudeau had developed. 
  14. McLuhan and I had worked on some ideas together,
